The Seaside House

When Dee and Alistair Davison bought their new home in Dunbar, they could see it had huge potential. The house is late Edwardian, with many beautiful internal features. With a large garden to the front and rear, and five bedrooms it was a generous sized family home. However the kitchen was small and cramped with no space for family activities. There were no views or any connection to the fantastic back garden, as an antiquated toilet and utility room blocked access.

We think it’s an important part of our service to provide a series of options for our clients, as it shows what is possible within varying budgets . To start with we produced three designs and the worked up solution involves clearing away the lean to at the back of the house, and form a family room with a large window overlooking the garden.

A new extension to the side, provides generous kitchen space that is open to the family room. We used our skills to integrate and blend the extension with the existing house. Large folding stacking doors, enable the kitchen to open up to the garden on calm sunny days.
